Jungle Excursions
One guided jungle excursion is included in the $875 week (7 days, 3 ceremonies), and two are included in the $1000 10-day retreat (4 ceremonies). Jungle excursions include a 90-minute hike to the giant lupuna tree, the largest in the area and said to be home of Chuyachaki, the protector spirit of the jungle, and visits to local communities along the river. Jungle excursions depend on the weather — some areas can’t be reached when the water is too high.
The Lupuna Tree
One trip is to the largest tree in the area — a gigantic lupuna, said to be the home of Chuyachaki, the protector spirit of the jungle.
